Nygard Legal specialises in providing contract legal services to lawyers and law firms , including all aspects of appeals at any level, writing or editing factums or arguments, support at court appearances, acting as agent, and arguing cases or discrete motions.
Nygard Legal will bill the contracting lawyer or firm directly. Services can then be billed out to clients as the contracting lawyer deems appropriate.
We are located in New Westminster, but can provide services throughout British Columbia.
All services of Nygard Legal are provided by Donnaree Nygard. Donnaree practiced litigation for 28 years at the Federal Department of Justice in a broad range of areas, including Constitutional, administrative, class action, national security, insolvency and injunction law. Since 2022, Donnaree has continued to practice in a variety of areas, including Constitutional, commercial, class action, and public inquiry law.
Donnaree has argued cases at all levels of the British Columbia and Federal Courts, in the Supreme Court of Canada, and before a Public Inquiry.
Donnaree was called to the Bar in 1994 after completing her LLB at Dalhousie University in 1993 and an Honours BSc in chemistry at the University of British Columbia in 1990.
She regularly contributes to CLE programs, including authoring a chapter in the British Columbia Administrative Law Practice Manual and co-authoring a chapter in Injunctions: British Columbia Law and Practice. Donnaree also acts as a guest lecturer at Allard School of Law in the Charter Litigation seminar and is an advocacy advisor for the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute .
